All W-2 forms for wages, salaries, and tips;
All 1099 forms for interest, dividends, miscellaneous income, stock sales (1099-B’s), etc.;
Year end brokerage statements showing investment transactions for stocks, bonds, etc., as well as the closing (12/31) market value of the portfolio. (PLEASE NOTE: The year-end market value statement is NOT the same document as the 1099's. The 1099's are usually mailed separately.)
Cost Basis on Sold Investments (This must be provided by the client if not accurately and completely reported by the brokerage firm. Generally only full service brokerage firms provide cost basis!)
Schedule K-1's showing income from partnerships, S-Corporations, estates, and trusts.
1098 Statements supporting deductions for mortgage interest and real estate taxes.
- All Forms 1095-A, 1095-B, and /or 1095-C related to healthcare coverage or the Premium Tax Credit.
Any tax notices sent to you by the IRS or other taxing authority.
A copy of your tax returns (Federal & State) from last year, (only if not prepared by this office).
Final closing/settlement statements regarding any purchase, sale, or refinance of real estate. If you sold real estate, we need to know the date of acquisition and cost basis, including improvements.
